About Arc Attack
Based in Woolgoolga on the NSW Mid North Coast, Arc Attack Engineering is an award winning engineering firm that specialises in structural steel fabrication and installation, steel construction and metal repairs. The excellence of our work has been recognised with awards including the Coffs Harbour Business Awards “The Sunnys” Manufacturing Award and also Business of the Year, in addition to numerous years as a Sunnys finalist. Arc Attack has also been named as the Woolgoolga Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year and twice won the NSW Local Business Award for manufacturing.
Our expertise has seen us work on some of the largest projects on the Coffs Coast and Port Macquarie area including the Park Beach Plaza multi storey car park, the Port Macquarie Courthouse, the NSW Surf Life Saving Building in Port Macquarie, Coles Coffs Harbour, Woolworths Woolgoolga, a bridge in the National Park at Dorrigo that required airlifting into position, and the extremely challenging Skywalk for NSW National Parks overlooking Coffs Harbour.
The team has also completed structural steel work for schools as far west as Tamworth and north to the Queensland border, sheds for fruit growers and many bespoke small projects.
The tradesmen at Arc Attack are up for any challenge, from large commercial projects and supplying structural steel, handrails, posts and beams, through to the smallest of repair jobs.
The company was originally known as Backman Engineering. Current owner and manager, Warren Whitten has over 35 years experience in the steel fabrication industry. His career commenced with the Hunter Valley Training Corporation, before moving on to work on power stations all around NSW, as well as gold mines, sawmills and food production plants. He then settled in Woolgoolga, where he worked for WE Smith. After a shift to Backman Engineering, after a number of years he bought out the company founders, re-naming the firm Arc Attack Engineering in 1997.
The company’s location being just 25kms north of Coffs Harbour and 60km south of Grafton means it has close access to major steel suppliers, as well as associated trades including galvanisers, sandblasters and powder coaters. This enables the company to meet quite specific and detailed project needs at any scale.
Arc Attack Engineering also provide repair services for boats, trailers and earthmoving equipment both at the company’s well-equipped workshop and on-site when required.
Many of the North Coast’s leading builders have relied on Arc Attack Engineering to contribute to their successful projects. We have fabricated and supplied everything from structural steel, handrails, beams, posts and stairs through to steel furniture items. No job is too tricky or too small, and numerous small repair jobs are completed in the workshop on a daily basis – anything from farm machinery to household items.
